In the Shaolin Temple, two orphan boys are growing up. Jumbo becomes a friend of the anti-government movement. Tempo, the gold-digger, joins the army. Jumbo and Chiulin have a fight with the tax collector. Tempo plans to trap his old friends and most of the resistance is either arrested or killed.

Templo sees killing as a way to advance his career in the government. Jumbo kills Tempo in a big fight and retires into the Mountains of Wutang where he establishes the Taoist School of the Octagon (Tai Chi).
